About Me
Of myself, my character is defined by a simple "go to it" attitude. I won't talk myself up, but let my own works do the talking for me. I came to Texas State University for a couple of reasons. Relative to many other universities and colleges I had been considering, Texas State was far closer to home. Too, I enjoyed the size of Texas State. I felt that this was a place I could go to recieve a good education and have access to many opportunities, while also enjoying a smaller and more tightly-knit community.
I became a mass communications major after a fairly bad run with my first choice major, which was accounting. I had to take a semester to reevaluate myself, my strengths and weaknesses, and a myriad of other factors. Overall, taking the mass communication major meant that I would spend much of my time writing, which is the one skill I know I am good at. The market is also in no short need of public relations specialists. Within mass communication, I chose to focus on the technical aspects by taking the digital and online media route. Journalism, broadcast media, and the other selections simply didn't have the appeal that coding and social media did.
